Privacy Policy
Overview
Dressy helps you look after your clothes: you photograph care labels, and Dressy tells you how to wash them and which garments can be washed together. This policy explains what information the app handles. Short version: your wardrobe lives on your device, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you.
Information we handle
- Account: when you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a private user ID and, if you choose to share it, your email address. We keep them on your device to recognise you. If you instead sign in with Google or with an email and password, your email address (and, for email, a password stored only in hashed form) is processed by Google Firebase Authentication solely to sign you in; Google provides this service to us.
- Wardrobe data: garment photos, care labels, materials, stains, washing machine and detergent details, and your wash loads. This is stored on your device.
- Photos and camera: used only to read labels, machine panels and detergents that you choose to scan.
- Purchases: subscriptions are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, which receives your purchase status and an anonymous app user ID so we can tell whether your subscription is active. We never receive your payment details.
How photos are processed
Text on labels is read on your device. To recognise care symbols, a label photo may be sent securely to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to return the result to you. It is not used to train models, to advertise to you, or to build a profile of you, and we do not keep it after the result is returned.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your personal data, do not show ads, do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and do not combine your data with data from other apps or websites.
Storage and deleting your data
Your wardrobe is stored on your device. Deleting the app removes it. You can also erase everything at any time in Settings → Delete account, which removes all garments, photos, machines, detergents and loads, deletes your Google or email sign-in record, and signs you out.
Children
Dressy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA/UK you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because your data is on your device, you can exercise most of these yourself in the app; for anything else, contact us.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
